03/12/2009 - Detroit, MI (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Olli Jokinen scored twice in regulation and provided the winner in the shootout, as the Calgary Flames rallied from a three-goal deficit to defeat the Detroit Red Wings, 6-5, at Joe Louis Arena.

Jamie Lundmark posted two goals and an assist for the Flames, who are 3-3-0 on a seven-game road trip that concludes Saturday in Toronto. Daymond Langkow also found the net, while Dion Phaneuf recorded two assists. Miikka Kiprusoff made 40 saves to earn his league-leading 40th win of the season.

Nicklas Lidstrom registered a goal and two assists for the Red Wings, who have lost two of three. After watching Calgary score four straight goals to take a 5-4 lead, Dan Cleary tied the game for Detroit with 41.4 seconds remaining in the third period. Henrik Zetterberg, Mikael Samuelsson and Valtteri Filppula also scored for the home team, while Pavel Datsyuk collected three helpers. Ty Conklin made 28 saves in the loss.

Lidstrom's power-play tally -- a blast from the high slot -- put the Red Wings up 3-1 at 8:36 of the middle stanza, and Filppula let fly a slap shot from the top of the left circle that beat Kiprusoff through the five-hole with 3:58 to play in the second period.

Langkow scored on a redirection 35 seconds later to make it 4-2.

Calgary continued to battle back in the third period, outshooting Detroit by a 17-2 margin over the final 20 minutes.

With time becoming the Flames' enemy, Lundmark and Jokinen tallied twice in a 51-second span to draw Calgary even.

After Lundmark lit the lamp with 3:22 to play, Curtis Glencross drifted into the middle of the right circle and fired a wrister that rattled between the pads of Conklin. Driving hard to the net, Jokinen got his stick on the puck before it slithered across the goal line.

Calgary seized the lead when Lundmark scored on the wraparound with 1:20 remaining, but Cleary answered for Detroit with the Red Wings' net empty.

With the shootout even at one after two rounds, Kiprusoff turned away Jiri Hudler and Jokinen fired a wrister over Conklin's left shoulder to win the game.

Aided by Calgary taking a bevy of penalties, the Red Wings recorded a season- high 28 shots in the opening 20 minutes and, remarkably, had only two goals to show for their effort.

Detroit actually trailed after Jokinen found the net while Zetterberg served a hooking penalty. The newly acquired centerman swept the puck from behind the goal line through Conklin as the netminder attempted to seal off the right post. The Flames then began a parade to the penalty pox and Detroit struck twice on the power play to assume a one-goal lead.

Datsyuk pulled the puck to the backhand and his bid caught iron. Zetterberg went hard to the net and whacked the rebound behind a fallen Kiprusoff at 10:01.

Less than a minute later, Phaneuf drilled Cleary and was given a five-minute major for boarding. The visitors then survived a couple lengthy two-man advantages before Samuelsson turned on the red light with 3:16 remaining.

Kurt Warner to start, Matt Leinart to watch

Despite the debate that's swirling , Kurt Warner will remain the starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals, coach Dennis Green said today. The Arizona Cardinals are the +7 point underdog at online sportsbook MySportsbook.com for this Sunday's game.

Green's comment came in a statement released by the team following an ESPN report that Green decided that rookie Matt Leinart would replace Warner as starter for Sunday's game at Atlanta.

"Generally talking about the starting lineup is not something we do," Green told the AP. "However, given the speculation that was out there we want to make it clear. We're disappointed after last week, but we still expect to be a playoff football team and we fully expect Kurt Warner to be the quarterback that leads us. That has not changed."
