11/28/2008 - Shenzhen, China (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Spanish team of Miguel Angel Jimenez and Pablo Larrazabal fired an impressive, nine-under 63 in Friday's foursomes format to move atop the leaderboard after the second round of the World Cup.
Spain finished 36 holes at 17-under 127 and is four ahead at Mission Hills Golf Club.
Overnight leader Germany, with Martin Kaymer and Alex Cejka, only managed a three-under 69 on Friday. It fell into a tie for second place with the Australian tandem of Brendan Jones and Richard Green at minus-13. The Australian pair shot a 68 on Friday.
Sweden, perhaps the most talented team in the competition with sixth-ranked Robert Karlsson and 12th-ranked Henrik Stenson, posted a five-under 67 and is alone in fourth at 12-under 132.
"We hit some really good shots and made some really good putts," said Stenson. "There is still a long way to go but hopefully we can reel Spain in."

Spain birdied the par-three second hole, but really vaulted up the leaderboard when Larrazabal knocked the team's second to 15 feet at the par-five third. Jimenez drained the eagle putt and Spain was atop the leaderboard.
The Spanish duo birdied the fifth, seventh and ninth holes to continue its fine form. Another birdie at the 10th got Spain to 16-under par for the championship.
Spain birdied the 11th and was four ahead on the leaderboard.
After a miscue at the par-five 15th that led to a bogey, Larrazabal ran home a long birdie putt at the 16th. That birdie reclaimed a four-shot cushion for Spain in its attempt for a first victory in this tournament since 1984.
"We complemented very well today on the golf course," said Jimenez. "We didn't have any mistakes, except at hole number 15 where we made a bogey. Apart from that we played well. We enjoyed ourselves and that is very important."
The American team of Ben Curtis and Brandt Snedeker shot a three-under 69 and is tied with the Irish duo of Graeme McDowell and Paul McGinley, who teamed for 68 on Friday. Those two countries came in at 11-under 133.
Japan posted a 68 on Friday and is alone in seventh at minus-10, which is one shot better than Canada, which carded a one-under 71 in Friday's foursomes round.
Korea's two-under 70 got them into ninth place at minus-six.
India (72), Finland (70) and The Philippines (72) share 10th at five-under 139.
Scotland, last year's winning country, struggled to a one-over 73 on Friday and is 17th at minus-three.
